Purpose Statement

Adopted September 12, 2006

The purpose of Winnebago Presbytery is bearing witness to Jesus Christ and strengthening and connecting our congregations.

Sustaining Statements

•    Supporting mission locally, nationally and globally
•    Supporting congregations in transition
•    Educating and informing members and congregations
•    Facilitating local church collaboration and clustering
•    Developing leaders
•    Modeling ecumenical and global relationships

Current Priorities

It is intended that the various committees, task groups and other entities within the presbytery will interpret these priorities as they go about their work.

•    Expand communication at all levels
•    Increase opportunities for involvement by members of local congregations
•    Increase understanding of the changing role of Presbytery  Synod, and General Assembly
•    Focus and prioritize use of all resources
•    Encourage models of sustainable congregational life and pastoral leadership
