Dear Presbytery of Winnebago,

Thank you very much for your donation of $625.00, the third quarter disbursement from the Mission Commission Grant.  This year we have attended clinics to learn how to help more people in our area — people who may have trouble dealing with anger, families who need to learn how to communicate, children dealing with family seperatio, and many more difficult living situations.

We love sharing our skills and horses with all.  We know first hand the healing powers of horses.

Sincerely,

Chris and Everyone at Red River Riders

***Red River Riders is partly funded by Winnebago Presbytery’s Local Mission Grants.  The organization is committed to rehabilitation through horseback riding.  More information at their web site ***

Dear friends in Christ,

We are deeply appreciative for the emerging mission needs grant check of $3000 you recently sent to the Just Fare Ltd. We are grateful for being entrusted with these funds and respect the mission giving that this represents from 40 Winnebago Presbytery congregations. Thank you.

This is very timely assistance as we are preparing for a Grand Opening beginning October 18. We will now be able to do a more effective job in spreading the good news of this mission. We will also be able to expand our inventory in preparation for the gift-giving season. People in our area are beginning to see these wonderful fairly traded products as an appropriate alternative in purchases for Christmas and other special times.

We will use the funds with prayerful thought. We will keep the Presbytery Office informed of special events and our hours of operation. We look forward to sharing this mission with the churches in the Presbytery.

Sincerely,

Carol Smith

President, Board of Directors Just Fare Ltd.

Our young people will be assembling Church World Service Health Kits at Presbytery Camp in October. The need is great but the supply of kits is down.

Health-Kit.jpgYour church can help by donating the items for the health kits. Bring them to the September Presbytery meeting and we will take it from there. Items needed - exactly these please:

  • hand towels
  • washcloths
  • combs
  • metal nail files or nail clippers with file
  • bath size bar soap in wrapper
  • toothbrushes in orginal packaging
  • 4-7 ounce tubes of toothpaste
  • Band-Aids

Monetary donations are welcome as there is a $2 processing/shipping charge per kit.

We have great young people; please help them help other great young people facing the effects of disasters stay healthy.

Did you know that Winnebago Presbytery, the East Central Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the Diocese of Fond du Lac of the Episcopal Church and the Northeast Association of the United Church of Christ have all entered into an ecumenical agreement to support a new hispanic minsitry in northeast Wisconsin? Iglesia Senda de Amor began in 2006 with just a few families gathering in a home. Nearly a year later, as many as 60 gather on Sunday afternoons at Grace Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI to study, worship and share a meal. Recently representatives from each of the supporting middle governing bodies attended a serivce. You can see pictures in a PowerPoint presentation here.
