Elisabeth Cook (Eli) a Presbyterian Church Mission Worker from Costa Rica was in Winnebago Presbytery October 13th – 18th.  During that time she visited nearly a quarter of our congregations.

 Eli writes:  Eli Cook

My time in the Winnebago Presbytery took me through Shawano, Crivitz, Forest Larger Parish, Schofield, Steven’s Point, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Neenah, Appleton and Aniwa. It was a time of sharing, learning and of meeting many wonderful people. Thank you for welcoming me into your congregations and your homes. As part of Mission Challenge 07, I have been blessed and privileged to spend these days sharing with you about Presbyterian World Mission and about my own work in Costa Rica and Latin America. Your prayers and faithful giving make all this possible. For this, I thank you in the name of my 230 mission worker colleagues.  Learn more about Eli’s work in Costa Rica  here.

That’s right – If you were at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Schofield last week, you had to bring your own chair! Elder Curt Kolberg wrote us saying

“This past Sunday we celebrated “Bring a Chair Sunday” at Covenant Community Presbyterian Church in Schofield. We recognized that it has been one year since our official ground breaking. We had a huge turnout in the unfinished sanctuary and gave tours of the soon to be completed lower level classrooms. We will hold Sunday School in the lower level as the fall session begins. Our goal is to celebrate Advent in the new sanctuary.”

If you attended the last presbytery meeting you know that the Reverend Nelson Craig has been named the Pastor Emeritus at First Presbyterian Church Winneconne. This last weekend the congregation had a celebration in his honor. Pictured below: Nelson, his wife Beverly and the Rev. Mara Rivera who is the current pastor of the church. Congratulations Nelson!
