The Rev. Mark Koenig, Coordinator for the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program writes,
On October 5, many congregations will celebrate World Communion Sunday and receive the Peacemaking Offering. The Peacemaking Offering presents an opportunity to raise awareness of the peacemaking emphasis of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and provides financial support for peacmaking ministries in congregations, presbyteries and synods and on the national level.
As you consider your congregation’s offering here are a few of the ways Peacemaking monies have been used.

Winnebago Presbytery
In our presbytery, much of our portion of the Peacemaking Offering is used to support domestic abuse shelters like Harbor House and Safe Haven, under served kids after-school programs, and agencies that provide food and support services to families. In 2007, the amount granted to these programs was $3700
